A clear inquiry saves time on both sides. The more precisely you describe what you need, the faster a supplier can confirm availability and provide an accurate quotation.

Checklist

  1. Stone type and colour: for example granite, marble or sandstone, with a colour or reference name if you have one.
  2. Product format: slabs, tiles, cut-to-size pieces, paving, cladding or landscaping stones.
  3. Dimensions and thickness: including tolerances if they matter.
  4. Surface finish: polished, honed, flamed, brushed, sandblasted or natural split.
  5. Quantity: approximate area, pieces or tonnage.
  6. Destination: country and port, so shipping can be planned.
  7. Timeline: when you need the material to arrive.

Why it matters

Natural stone varies by batch and quarry. Agreeing a clear specification up front, ideally with a sample or reference photo, reduces the risk of surprises on delivery.
