From block to slab
Marble is extracted in blocks, which are cut into slabs and then processed into tiles or custom sizes. Colour and veining can change from one block to the next.
Variation is normal
Veins, tone and small natural marks are characteristics of the stone. Agree how much variation is acceptable, and approve samples or photographs of the actual material.
Care
Marble can be etched by acids and scratched more easily than granite. Sealing and suitable cleaning products help maintain its appearance.
